New ADFC events from all over Bavaria in one app – filter by administrative region, ADFC chapter and local group. Take a look
The cycling app for all of Bavaria
Plan less. Ride more.
PedalArrow finds tours, courses and events, compares bike-friendly routes and navigates you to your destination – together with your group if you like.
- Free no subscription, no in-app advertising
- No account ready to use right after installing
- No tracking no advertising ID, no analytics of its own
Real app screens: Android with the route comparison on the left, iPhone with the map of upcoming meeting points on the right.
From event to navigation.
This is how PedalArrow accompanies a ride – stop by stop, the same on Android and iPhone.
-
Stop 1: Find
Tours, courses and events in one place
PedalArrow brings together ADFC events from all over Bavaria plus events from Landratsamt München, MünchenUnterwegs, MunichWays and Radentscheid München. Filter by region, organiser, date, length, difficulty, pace or surface.
- Save events and add them to your calendar
- Meeting points on the official Bavarian web map
- German event texts translated into English on your device
-
Stop 2: Check the trip
Weather, trains and travel advice for your event
One tap shows the forecast for the meeting point and start time, compares MVV connections with real-time information and flags school holidays, public holidays and travel advice – before you set off.
- Plan a bike ride that gets you there on time
- Every piece of information shows its source and time
-
Stop 3: Compare
Several routes – with a recommendation you can follow
PedalArrow calculates genuinely different bike routes and explains its recommendation: distance, duration, elevation, share of cycling infrastructure and complex junctions side by side.
- Relaxed, balanced or direct profiles
- Up to five stops or a round trip of your chosen length
- Plan by departure or desired arrival
-
Stop 4: Understand
Read the route before you ride it
Colour the route by cycling infrastructure, gradient, surface or traffic stress. City of Munich roadworks and closures along the way are listed right next to it – with their distance from the route and their source.
- Grey means honest: no reliable data for that section
- Find an alternative without visible closures in one tap
-
Stop 6: Ride together
Private group rides, end-to-end encrypted
Create a ride, share the invitation as a link or QR code and set a meeting point. Anyone who wants to can share their location live – and pause it at any time. The ride ends by itself after the chosen 2 to 72 hours unless the ride leader extends it.
- No account, an alias is enough
- Riders and meeting point on one map
-
Destination reached
All that’s missing is the app. Go to download
Your data. Your rides.
PedalArrow needs no account, uses no advertising ID and runs no analytics or tracking system of its own.
-
Location only when you need it
Searching, filtering and planning work without location access. The app only asks for navigation, recording, a weather, public transport or nearby search, sharing in a group ride, your position on the map or an offline area around you. If location is already allowed, the Home tab sorts events by distance while on screen, without storing or sending it.
-
Local and encrypted
Favourites and saved routes are encrypted with AES-256-GCM in private app storage, excluded from backups – and can be deleted in one place.
-
Groups nobody else can read
Ride name, display names, locations and meeting point are end-to-end encrypted. The key only travels inside the invitation.
-
Every service named
Maps, routing, weather, public transport and radio connect directly to their providers. The privacy policy lists what goes where, feature by feature.
Everything a ride needs.
Prepare before you start, stay informed on the way – and set the app up the way you need it.
-
Preparation before the ride
Set up the offline map, nearby places and audio before you start.
-

Frequently asked questions
Can’t find your question? Write to info@pedalarrow.com.
What does PedalArrow cost?
Nothing. PedalArrow is free, with no subscription and no in-app advertising. Radio streams you choose to start come from the broadcaster and may contain its advertising.
Do I need an account?
No. The app is ready to use right after installing – group rides work without an account, too.
Which devices are supported?
Android 8.0 or later and iPhone with iOS 17 or later, each in English and German.
Which region is PedalArrow for?
All of Bavaria. The app shows ADFC events from every administrative region, the official Bavarian web map and offline maps within Bavaria. Only the Munich area also gets MVV connections, City of Munich roadworks and events from Landratsamt München, MünchenUnterwegs, MunichWays and Radentscheid München.
Which events does PedalArrow show?
Tours, courses and events from ADFC across Bavaria plus Landratsamt München, MünchenUnterwegs, MunichWays and Radentscheid München. Every event names its organiser and links to the original source.
Does the app work without internet?
Partly. Saved events, recently loaded data, spoken guidance and a pre-downloaded offline map work without reception. Route calculation, events, weather and public transport need a connection.
When does the app use my location?
When you start navigation, recording, a weather, public transport or nearby search or sharing in a group ride, show your position on the map or choose an offline area around you. If location is already allowed, the Home tab also sorts events by distance while on screen; your location is not stored or sent for this. Searching, filtering and planning work without location.
How private are group rides?
Ride name, display names, locations and meeting point are end-to-end encrypted; the key is only in the invitation. A ride lasts 2 to 72 hours and then ends automatically. The ride leader can extend it or end it early for everyone.
Is PedalArrow run by the ADFC?
No. PedalArrow is an independent, privately developed leisure project. Names and links identify sources and services, not a partnership.
How do I report a bug or share an idea?
By email to info@pedalarrow.com. Please report security issues confidentially with the subject “Sicherheit”.
